The old city in Naples is a labyrinth of narrow alleyways and ancient streets. The huge main street, the Spaccanapoli, cuts a path straight through the Historic Center of town with its colorful assortment of trattorias, cafes, pizzerias, and boutiques. Just follow this street, and you'll find many of the city's most alluring churches and palazzos.

You may also want to take in the National Archaeological Museum, which has one of the best and most breathtaking collections of Roman art and artifacts in the world. Take a high-speed or slow ferry to the island of Capri, one of the jewels of Italy. Dramatically beautiful, the island's most alluring site is the Blue Grotto, though there are other natural wonders and beautiful vistas, like the lush, wooded Migliera pathway and the beautiful marinas. Look off to the ocean to the Faraglioni, soaring, rocky stacks sculpted by nature.

If you're not already familiar with Naples and Capri, it might be a good idea to look at the schedules of guided tours to estimate how much time you will need to enjoy each location you wish to see. While this is a full-day program that gives you eight hours -- bookable between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. -- to sightsee, a four-hour, half-day program is also available.
