After meeting your driver on the pier shore side, you will be driven to the nearby airport where you will board a Cessna Caravan (12 - 14 seats) for your scenic 20-minute flight over the world's second largest Barrier Reef. From 1,500 feet, and with windows under the wing, you will be able to see the magnificent underwater formations and the many islands, big and small, that dot the reef system.
Upon arrival in San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, you will walk to the nearby dive shop 5 minutes away where you will gear up with your small group of fellow divers before boarding your boat. Ambergris Caye is protected by the largest Barrier Reef in the western hemisphere, which provides lagoon-like conditions between shore and the dive sites. The ride to the Barrier reef is a short 5-minute trip.
There are more than 50 dive sites close by and based on sea and weather conditions that day you may swim through tunnels, visit a wreck, or simply glide over the canyons that run off the barrier reef created by dozens of species of corals and sponges. And the marine life… You will have the possibility of seeing turtles, parrot and angelfish, sharks, crabs, lobsters, rays, and much more.
Between your dives you will return to San Pedro for a break for approximately 60 minutes during which you can relax on the beach or purchase lunch at one of the local beach-side cafés.
After your second dive, you will have approximately 30 - 45 minutes of free time before you will fly back to Belize City. Due to the plane’s low altitude, your dive will not be compromised.
Please note: This is for certified divers only. Price includes all dive equipment, tanks and weights. If you are bringing your own equipment, please bring as little as possible. There is a $10.00 per person Marine Park fee, payable in US dollars at the time of the dive.
