Escape the crowded cruise line excursions on this tour of Buenos Aires' many cultural, historical, and scenic highlights.

You will be met at the cruise pier where you will be picked up and transferred to the tour office in downtown Buenos Aires. Here you will meet your guide and begin your tour starting with Buenos Aires’ most famous plaza, Plaza de Mayo (Plaza of May). The plaza was the site of the May 1810 revolution that led to Argentina’s independence and has been a focal point of political life in Buenos Aires and, arguably, Argentina ever since. In the plaza you will see the Casa Rosada (Pink House). The Casa Rosada is the official seat of the executive branch of the government of Argentina, and the office of the President. You will also see Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo (Town Hall) and enjoy a great view of Colon Theater. Colon Theater is one of the most highly regarded opera houses in the world.

Next, you will visit the traditional quarter of San Telmo with its magical atmosphere that will take you back in time. After this, we will stop at La Boca, the famous neighborhood where the first Italian immigrants settled down. La Boca is well known for its picturesque and colorful architecture along Caminito Street. We will continue to Palermo, a residential quarter with diverse attractions such as the zoo, the Palermo Parks, and the Planetarium.

Departing Palermo, we will visit Recoleta, one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the city which is home to elegant shops, excellent restaurants and open air cafes under the “gomero“ trees.

Your guided portion of the tour lasts approximately 3 hours 30 minutes, is done in English and Spanish, and ends in downtown Buenos Aires on the main pedestrian street. Here you will have free time to stroll the street, see the many shops, have a snack or just relax. When you are finished with your free time, you will hire a taxi (there are many on this street) for the 10 minute drive back to the ship pier. The cost of the taxi is approximately $8 for the taxi (not per person). The cost of the taxi is not included in the price of your tour.
