There is so much to say and learn about the Côtes de Provence wines that the wine growers themselves decided to build a wine center - La Maison des Vins - where all of their products are gathered. Here visitors can experience the quality and great variety of the products presented. Your specialist welcomes you into the specially designated rooms of the Wine House and gives a precise description of the Appellation. You learn about the history, geography, and production of the wines ; then you are shown how to serve, to evaluate, to smell, to taste them, and then, eventually, you may drink them!
After lunch, a short bus ride will take you to the nearby estate Chateau Ste Roseline, a property dating back to the tenth century. Roseline, the daughter of the Marquis of Villeneuve, was the Mother Superior of the abbey from 1300 to 1329. She made a lasting impression on the locals who named the property after her. She was sanctified in the 19th century and her body is laid to rest in a glass case in the vineyard's chapel. (Chapel is closed on Mondays) Since then, the site has been an important pilgrimage site. Great artists have celebrated the life of Saint Roseline : Marc Chagall in a mosaic and Diego Giacometti, with a relief sculpture and a bronze lectern.
A visit will also be made to their award winning cellar. After your tasting, you will drive back to Cannes.
