Departing from the pier, you will drive to the new area of Cannes, famous for its film festival and shopping. You will have a brief city orientation drive before you begin your self exploration. Stroll the elegant La Croisette Avenue or shop the Rue d'Antibes. Along the seaside La Croisette you will find all of the major French designers as well as many other International haute-couture designer shops, but it is on the Rue d'Antibes where you will find the more moderately-priced French brand names in clothing, shoes, boots, cosmetics, house wears, chocolates, lingerie and souvinears.

When it is time for a break from your retail therapy, make your way to the Carlton Cannes, where Grace Kelley met her future prince. Here you will enjoy a lunch buffet with a glass of French wine at The Carlton Beach Restaurant which has lured locals, hotel guests, shoppers and celebrities onto its bay-view terrace for decades.

After lunch, you will drive to the self-proclaimed perfume capital of the world, Grasse. In Grasse, you will tour one of its signature perfume factories and discover the intricacies of this fascinating industry. You will then walk next door to the Villa Habanita, a superb 1900's building of Provencal charm, where you will create your own perfume under the auspices of a master Perfumer (a nose). After an introduction to perfume, you will create a perfumed Water (eau de parfum) using your choice of the 80 essences displayed on pivoting trays (jasmin, blackberry bud, rose, galbanum, mimosa, vanilla, patchouli) Each creator takes away their own eau de parfum in a 50ml scent bottle and may re-order their perfume anytime (each formula is kept secret by the perfume factory) A diploma is given to each participant.

From here, rejoin your transportation for the drive back to the pier.

Please note: If wind or weather conditions are not favorable, and the Carlton is not serving on the terrace, lunch will take place in the hotel's dining room.
