Your first stop on this unforgettable tour will be Harrison's Cave, one of the islands highlights. You will board electrically operated trams that will take you through the extensive system of caves while cave guides will give you historical information on the caves which have been referenced as early as the eighteenth century. The caves are a unique phenomenon of nature. They are an amazing gallery of stalactites hanging from the roof of the cave, and stalagmites reaching up from the ground, with emerald pools and pillars where the stalactites and stalagmites have joined over thousands of years. Then make your way through the Island's green hills to the spectacular East Coast, considered the most scenic side of Barbados. The East Coast is famous for its rugged beauty. Atlantic rollers break on large rocks at sea to form beautiful mist and foam. After a short drive to see some of the breathtaking views, you will stop for a quick lunch.
After lunch, it is off to the Wildlife Reserve for a glimpse of those mischievous Barbados green tail monkeys. The Reserve, located in a natural mahogany woods, offers the unique opportunity to stroll freely while watching the animals at close range and in their own natural environment. A rare sight outside of West Africa, the Barbados Green Monkey is responsible for 70% of the Worlds Polio Vaccine. These charming, funny and fascinating animals will be a highlight of your day. The Reserve is also home to colorful parrots, flamingoes, peacocks, brown pelicans and sparrows. Reptile lovers will appreciate the enclosed collection of snakes, iguanas, turtles, tortoises and caiman.
Heading back to the West Coast, you will set off on a glass bottom boat to one of the islands most colorful reefs. Here you will have the opportunity to snorkel over a shallow shipwreck, view tropical fish, and swim with the often present sea turtles. After your boat excursion, you will return to Bridgetown.
