This half day program will give you a little taste of this piece of paradise. Setting out with your guide, start with a drive through the capital of Bridgetown with its charming architecture and the Garrison, where you will stop for a photo.
Departing Bridgetown, you will then drive to the village of Oistins which is a favorite spot for locals, in part due to the Friday night fish fries with dancing and singing. In the daytime, the village is host to a charming seafood market where fisherman bring in the fresh catch of the day that includes flying fish, Mahi Mahi, Snapper as well as other seafood treats. As your guide leads you on a walking tour of the fish market area, they will point out the different items as well as tell you more about the islands history. They will also walk you to the nearby town jetty where many of the fishing boats dock. Here you can often see sea turtles swimming below.
You will then have approximately two hours of free time to explore this Caribbean village on your own. Nearby are colorfully painted walk up restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors and fruit stands for those wishing to sample some of the local treats. Or maybe the white sand and glistening turquoise blue water will beckon you to come for a swim.
At the appointed time, you will meet up with your guide and begin the drive back to Bridgetown.
