Departing from the pier area, your tour begins with a drive through the Barbados capital of Bridgetown. Here you will see historic buildings and sites in this town originally founded by British settlers in 1628.
Departing from Bridgetown, you will travel along the island’s southern coast past a series of pristine and spectacular beaches including Accra, Oistins, and Miami before stopping to enjoy the sweeping views of Foul Bay.
Next, you will visit St John’s Church. This classic Gothic church with stunning architecture was built in 1836 on a cliff face 800 feet above sea level. It commands spectacular views of the east and south-eastern coastal regions. Within the churchyard is the tomb of a distant relative of Constantine, the last Christian Emperor of Constantinople. .
Your tour continues to the island's East Coast well known for its rugged beauty. Atlantic rollers break on large rocks at sea to form beautiful mist and foam. After driving along a part of the East Coast, you will stop for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. .
After lunch, you will drive north to Cherry Tree Hill. Situated 850 feet above sea-level, this spot offers an excellent view of the "Scotland District" which covers the parish of St. Andrew and is named after the Patron Saint of Scotland. The road to Cherry Hill is lined with mahogany trees, which were introduced into Barbados after the Treaty of Paris in 1763.
Turning west, you will drive down the West Coast to Holetown, where the British first landed in 1605, where the next portion of your exciting excursion begins. Here you will board a glass bottom boat for a cruise to swim with friendly sea turtles. You will also have an opportunity to snorkel at one of Barbados' most beautiful reefs where you will see a sunken wreck, abundant and colorful fish and almost always one of the islands friendly turtles. After your boat trip, you will return to Holetown and be driven back to the pier.
