Your day starts with a pick up at your location by a friendly tour guide in our comfortable touring van equipped with rear and front air conditioning and large viewing windows on all sides of the vehicle.
The first segment of your tour will take you to Kauai's East Shores' best beaches, mountains, waterfalls and Heiau's (sacred ancient Hawaiian sites). Have your camera poised and ready as inspiring photo opportunities are available throughout the day.
The tour continues with a visit to the Wailua River Marina where you will board a spacious, open-air river boat for a two mile leisurely journey to the Fern Grotto where you'll enjoy a short nature walk through the rainforest. The Fern Grotto is a geological wonder of Kauai where ferns grow upside down from the roof of the grotto. A natural amphitheater of lava rock and tropical vegetation are the perfect backdrop as you are serenaded and entertained by Hawaiian musicians and hula dancers. The Wailua River is Hawaii's only navigable river and is also a popular place for water skiing and kayaking.
Next you will visit the Island's Northern most point and the Kilauea Lighthouse and the nearby Kilauea Wildlife Refuge and Bird Sanctuary. You'll most certainly get a glimpse of many seabirds including the Laysan Albatross, Boobies and Tropic Birds as well as Nene Geese which frequent the area. During the winter months the Kilauea Lighthouse is a great place to watch for Hawaii's seasonal visitors, the Humpback whales.
Your tour continues with stops and views of the Sleeping Giant, Hanalei Bay, Hanalei Taro Fields, Anini Beach and the Northshore areas. Sugar cane fields and remnants of the old plantation days dot your tour route and our knowledgeable tour guides add to your sightseeing experience with tales of Kauai's past.
Possibly the most spectacular part of your day will be The Kauai Air Tour, a one hour airplane flight which encompasses the entire Garden Island. Your fixed wing aircraft holds up to 6 guests and is specifically designed for observation flights with its huge photo-friendly bubble windows. Enjoy views of the Menehune Fish Pond, the Eucalyptus Tunnel of Trees, Waita Reservoir (the largest reservoir on Kauai), Captain Cook's Landing in Waimea Town, the breathtaking Waimea Canyon, the majestic Napali Coastline, Lumahai Beach (were the movie South Pacific was filmed), Hanalei Valley, cascading waterfalls, Kilauea Lighthouse (the largest Frigate bird sanctuary) and miles of beautiful coastline and beaches.
During the tour, a stop will be made at the Wailua Marina Restaurant. You will have time to relax, stretch or purchase lunch or a cold drink at this local's favorite where you can feel a real sense of Aloha.
