Join us on this tour of magnificent Volcanoes National Park and then sample some of Hawaii's most famous macadamia nuts, all produced on the spectacular eastern side of the island.
The first scenic drive is over the saddle road, passing rolling green hills and moon like terrain between the two largest volcanoes on earth, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.
Your guide will take you to Volcanoes National Park, the most highly regarded and revered volcanic area on Earth. The park displays the results of 70 million years of volcanism, migration, and evolution - processes that thrust a bare land from the sea and clothed it with unique ecosystems, and a distinct human culture. The park highlights two of the world's most active volcanoes - Kilauea and Mauna Loa, and offers insights on the birth of the Hawaiian Islands and views of dramatic volcanic landscapes.
At the park, you will stop at the Visitor Center, see the highly acclaimed Jagger Museum and witness spectacular lava tubes, steam vents, sulfur banks, and fascinating scenic look outs. No trip to Hawaii is complete without a trip to Volcanoes National Park.
After your trip to the park, you will drive though a macadamia orchard and visit the farm. Here you will observe the harvesting process and, most importantly, sample the macadamia nuts!
A stop will also be made at a coffee farm for an introduction to Hawaiian coffee complete with a tasting of fresh brewed coffee and a look at the production of coffee roasting.
There will also be a stop for wine tasting at a volcano winery. Be sure to pick up a bottle of one of their award winning wines such as Macadamia Nut Honey made from the islands blossoms of the Macadamia Nut tree. These wines are available only in Hawaii.
You will enjoy beautiful views on the drive back to the pier.
