Your tour will start with a trip to see the Fisherman's Monument, which celebrates Mazatlan's important fishing heritage which continues through today both recreationally and commercially. You'll also stop at the majestic Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Construction on the cathedral began in 1875 and took 42 years to complete. Next you'll visit the bustling city market where locals shop for a wide variety of local produce and regional specialties.
One of the highlights of the tour is the visit to Mazatlan's historic center. Unlike many of the other ports on a Mexican Riviera itinerary, Mazatlan first developed as a fishing village, not as a tourist destination. The city was originally founded in 1531, and many of the houses and buildings in the historic center date back to the 1800s.
After completing your city tour, you'll take a scenic hike up to the highest natural lighthouse in the world. Here you'll enjoy beautiful views of the city, the Sierra Madre Mountains and local islands. The hike is uphill and involves uneven surfaces and the need to climb 300+ steps, so be sure to wear comfortable footwear.
