Tour Details

In the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter Program, each guest can expect a unique experience that brings you closer to an Atlantic Bottlenose dolphin than you ever dreamed possible! Not only will you see the bottlenose dolphin habitat, but you will learn important information about dolphins and the ocean too.

Upon arrival on the island, you will begin your dolphin program. The program portion is 30 minutes including the orientation. Your program begins with a fun, interactive, orientation briefly covering the natural history of dolphins, animal training techniques, ocean conservation and Watchable Wildlife Guidelines.

On the Dolphin Encounter float, you will stand on a waist-deep submerged platform and experience a heart-warming kiss, a hug, a dance and opportunities to rub down the dolphin. Your dolphin trainer will combine elements of hands-on contact, education, fun, laughter, and adventure to make this an unforgettable experience. While you enjoy your Dolphin Encounter and learn about the dolphin habitat you will also be in the midst of one of the finest natural attractions in the Bahamas.

The professional photo & video staff will be capturing your encounter so that you will have a chance to purchase and take home incredible souvenirs of your once-in-a-lifetime experience. Photos begin at approximately $16 and videos at $58

After your experience, enjoy a day in the sun. You can swim in the calm lagoon and relax on the beach. Big Boss Noodles, Inner-Tubes, and unsinkable float mats are available for rent. You also have use of the breathtaking lagoon beach area including hammocks, beach chairs and picnic tables. Beach umbrellas are available on a first come basis. Use of volleyball, basketball and game areas as well as views from the observation areas of the Dolphin Encounters’ amazing all-natural habitat where you can see the friendly dolphins and sea lions.

Other water sports (paddle boats, aquabikes, kayaks, snorkeling gear and others) and drinks (soft drinks, daiquiris, piña coladas, beer, wine and other mixed drinks) are available at the Tropical Beach Bar at an additional cost. A grilled lunch, and refreshing tropical drinks are available for purchase. The transfer to/from the island is included from the ferry terminal on Paradise Island.

Guests participating in a animal encounter can return to the mainland on ferries departing the island at 11:00am, 1:00pm, 2:00pm with the last ferry departing from Blue Lagoon at 4:00 for all guests booked on an encounter before 2:00pm. Ferries arrive at the Paradise Island ferry dock approximately 30 minutes later. Guests on the 3:30 encounter only will have a special ferry that departs the island at 6:00pm returning to Paradise Island at 6:30pm. Guests on the 3:30 encounter will not have beach time after the encounter as the beach closes at 4:00pm.
