Your private shore excursion begins as you meet your driver on the pier for the approximately one hour drive to Rome. Upon arrival in Rome, you will meet your English speaking guidebegin your excursion in the footsteps of Dan Brown’s characters Robert Langdon and Vittoria Vetra as they make their breathtaking quest across Rome in pursuit of the elusive "Illuminati," the secret society of legend, long thought to be extinct.

Your itinerary will visit some of the major settings of Dan Brown's novel, including the splendid Chigi Chapel in the Santa Maria del Popolo Church, (Path of Illumination/Earth) Here you will see the sculpture of Habakkuk and the Angel. Bernini's controversial statue of the Ecstasy of St.Theresa is in the Santa Maria della Vittoria Church, (Path of Illumination/Fire.) You will visit the tomb of the painter Raphael in the Pantheon and see the Piazza Navona and Bernini’s Fountain of Four Rivers.(Path of Illumination/water.) Your final stop is for an outside visit to the Castel Sant'Angelo, the papal hideout and fortress on the Tiber River, which is suggested as the meeting place of the Illuminati. From the outside you will be able to see the castle, the Bridge of Angels and the Passetto.

Your afternoon is at your leisure to explore on your own. You may wish to visit St Peters Square (Path of Illumination/air) and its West Ponente, a medallion of the west wind, and the square’s obelisk. At the appointed time and location, your driver will meet you and return you to the pier.
