After making your way to Simpson Bay, climb aboard your sailboat where you will find plenty of space in the shade or sun as there are never more than 22 guests plus crew on board. Sit back, lie-down, hang on and of course relax as the crew welcomes you on board and the captain prepares to sail.
Departing from Simpson Bay, your captain will take you on a beautiful course past bays and some of the island’s low lands. The day’s itinerary is based on the sea / weather conditions and your captain will take you to where you will have the best experience.
Two of the captain’s favorite spots are Baie Rouge and Baie Longue. Baie Rouge has a lovely emerging reef where you may see all kinds of fish as well as turtles, sting ray, eel, star fish and who knows what else. The boat anchors close enough for you to swim to any one of three beaches. When the boat arrives at Baie Longue it is often greeted by a school of jack fish. There is also a nice wall to snorkel on. This is also an idea location to swing on the spinnaker or Tarzan Swing. This trapeze style swing allows guests to swing out and drop, back flip, or dive into the beautiful blue water.
During your first stop, while you are snorkeling, walking the beach, or chilling out on one of the comfy cushions, your hostess is cooking a full lunch of Caribbean inspired treats such as Coconut Curry Chicken with Rice and fresh Cilantro, usually a nice Green Salad and French Bread as well as an edible Fruit Garnish. There are always cookies and chocolates afterward.
The boats bar is open with bottled water, juices and sodas in the morning and for after snorkeling, some of the coldest beer in St Maarten as well as rum punch is available.
Please note: Due to heavy traffic in the Simpson Bay area in the afternoon, guests on cruises departing St Maarten earlier than 6:00 pm should not book this tour. Final itinerary is at the captain’s discretion on the day of the tour based on sea and weather conditions and the safety / comfort of the guests.
