Scone Palace has played a central role throughout the history of Scotland, and was formerly the crowning place of Scottish kings, including Macbeth and Robert the Bruce. The palace’s 125 sumptuous rooms house a fabulous collection of French furniture, clocks, 16th century needlework (including bed hangings worked by Mary Queen of Scots), ivories, objets d’art and one of the finest collections of porcelain in the country. It is a treasure trove of Scottish history. The grounds and gardens are impressive and also well worth an exploration!
Explore the castle at your own pace (there are stewards throughout the palace and your guide will remain on hand to answer any of your questions) and enjoy plenty of time to absorb this quintessential Scottish experience.
