Rotorua Te Puia & Hells Gate

Excellent opportunity to see the interior of North Island. Highlight definitely Hell’s Gate. make sure you take light walking shoes as it’s well worth walking round entire park and there is plenty of time to do that. Driver/guide was retired schoolteacher who presented information and personal anecdotes in interesting, fun manner. You might want to take a water bottle and pick up a snack at the pier as it’s a day trip with minimal opportunity to find anywhere to buy food.

All the credit goes to our tour guide Catherine. She did an amazing job and I will never forget the warm hugs she gave us all at the end. She was very informative, caring and a lovely guide. The pace of the tour for all the attractions was perfect, we never felt rushed and we had a very enjoyable day!

The stop at the kiwi fruit farm was a great little extra as we learned a lot about kiwi fruit and had some delicious ice cream. The walks through Te Puia and Hells Gate were great especially the visit to the see the kiwi birds at Te Puia and the mud bath (extra cost) at Hells Gate.

Graham was the most wonderful guide! Nice small group. Perfect day.

Graham was our tour guide for the day. He was great. This was a small group of ten, which was really preferred by our group. We were able to cover more sites than those on the larger bus tours.
