The trip was okay, and we were glad to have done this excursion. Having the video clips was a plus. We definitely appreciated lunch!!
Did the best with the limitation of the three sites due to the need for the sites to be brought back to original condition after filming. Big flat screen in van allowed us to view movie clips related to visited sites. Nice narration and hosting by driver/guide. But, you had to use your imagination a bit at the sites. Cute props to take photos with. Guide provided lots of time and interesting narrations with movie stills. Park had nice signs associated with Rivendell shooting. Beautiful day for a drive out of Wellington and fresh lunch from Subway. Small group of fun younger tourists from Germany, Argentina and UK. Really had a nice time. Our portion of the full day tour (with appropriate lower rate) got us back to the ship on time, but we were not able to take advantage of the extended tour which visited the Weta Workshop.
Great tour, plus even handled the itinerary change that occurred at the last minute when we boarded our ship.
It was interesting to find our how movies are made. This tour took you to places where the Lord of the RIngs was filmed and you would think it was vast area or secluded but to my amazement it wasn't. The tour is great for anyone that is over 12 yrs as it is a long tour.

If you are a Lord of the Rings Fan this is very well-done, and a must see! You see where movie filming was done. Our Guide was very informative and worked hard for us. A free lunch was included at one of the sites, that ""hit the spot""!

The guide was well informed about the various locations for Lord of the Rings. He had props for people to wear to visualize the different scenes from the movies. He made it fun and provided a yummy lunch!
