Horseback Ride and White Water Kayaking

Horses were awesome!, Kayaking just OK
September 18, 2014
We left port on time with another couple that only purchased kayaking. Driver was awesome, pleasant, funny, and knowledgable. About 1 hour to stables, and the other couple had to wait 2 hrs on us to do the horses-we felt awful. The riding guide was late but after he arrived he was great! Rode to the beach and had the most beautiful private beach and accomadations to OURSELVES! It was a mini paradise of ours. We rode in the water, guide was great. Didn't seem like the horses enjoy that too much though-guide said their moaning was completely normal. We had our own personal photographer and bought a CD of 60 pictures riding, swimming, standing on the horses backs, for $40. We did get back late, the other couple was anxious (so were we), running short on time. Went to kayak, it was OK, pretty tame water and kind of boring. I will call it more of a ""team building"" exercise for my husband and I. I do understand they're not going to bring a group of tourists with different backgrounds and abilities to ""white water kayak"" in ""real"" rapids with a ""real"" kayak-these kayaks don't tie you in and are blow up LOL. Water is only like 2-3ft deep and you go through maybe 4-5 different small bits of rapids, the water is pretty much still the rest of the time so be prepared to paddle-a lot! By the time we finished, the beach stuff was closed and we were LATE! Driver rushed to get us back on time, we were sweating. Hit traffic, he drove on the wrong side of the road to get us to pier-he succeeded as he promised ! Unfortunately no time to shop or try local food :( We really felt bad for the other couple with us-that wait was not fair to them!
