Very interesting to see how people choose to live in the summer in these beautiful cottages on these small islands.

A short walk from the cruise pier, we would recommend this mail boat trip, if you don't want to spend a lot of money or time on an excursion. The Casco Bay Ferry shuttled people and freight out to the outlying islands. The captain provided interesting commentary about the area history. Beautiful scenery, nice boat ride, easy to do.

The Diamond Pass Run was a scenic and relaxing excursion. The terminal was easy to find from the ship and a short walk. We thought it was unusual, however, that there was no "tour guide" narrating the trip. Still, a good value.

Almost a two hour ferry ride around Portland. It is used for commuting from Portland to the nearby islands where people have summer homes. There are some hearty year rounders as well. Fun watching people get on and off and seeing the lovely Victorian homes. Look out for kids who jump off the pier into the wake of the departing ferry. Plenty of time to walk and shop the quaint town of Portland.

This excursion is well worth the money. Amble time on board the boat which took us through several islands where tourists and locals enjoy. The scenery is fantastic and we can not have asked for more.

For CAD22.70, I actually did not expect much, but I was surprised. The run was absolutely fabulous. Scenery among the many small islands in the Bay is so full of life and yet serene in another sense. Our money well spent!
