Jeep Tour

Directions to meeting point needed more clarity, but once in the Jeep, it was mazing. Our female guide was so interesting, and passionate about what she did, was a great driver, mindful of all of us. Her energy was so enjoyable. Weather was the only let down, our photos do not do this paradise justice!!

A fun trip

Enjoyed this excursion, enjoyed being in a smaller vehicle and not a large bus like many of the other cruise ship tours were. Our guide was good and took us up on top of the crater where only 4 wheel drive vehicles can go. It was amazing!

Fantastic!

Our jeep tour of the back countr out of Punta Delgada on Azorean island of Sao Miguel was a highlight of our cruise. Who knew that beyond the coast there is a wonderland of lush forests, with wild hydrangeas and ginger orchids growing everywhere? Our guide/driver, Elvis was delightful and very informative. Having been born on the island and grown up in Canada, he professes a love for the Azores and chose to return as an adult. It's so amazing what beauty lies beyond the coast, especially on a volcanic island! He took us to numerous beautiful viewpoints and also educated us on the geology, geography, history, and culture of the Azores, all with a wonderful sense of humor and real desire to make us return at some point in the future. We were totaly wowed by the experience. The meeting point directions were very clear, and it was actually visible from our cruise ship stateroom.

Sete Cidades Jeep Tour

We arrived in port and immediately we could see the beauty of the landscape. Our tour guide was on time, passionate and very kind. He was younger than we expected however, he was full of knowledge about Ponta del Garda. He took pictures of us and allowed extra time to " smell the roses" we did not feel rushed at all. Sete Cidades is so incredibly beautiful, words can't be used to describe it's beauty. At the end of our tour, it started to rain. Our very kind tour guide dropped us at a nearby mall because we were not ready to return to the ship. All in all, it was an excellent tour.

We were in a jeep with three passengers and the driver. The jeep was comfortable and had no problems with the four-wheel roads we were on (about 1/3 of the overall trip). Despite the fairly heavy fog for much of the trip, the whole experience was one of new discoveries and scenes. We had a number of friends who had taken the ship's tour, which was in a large bus and they saw nothing at all, except the small town on top of the volcano when they strolled around.

Value and more than expected

For the price this was a very good value as we were driven away from the city and could view the local landscape. Unfortunately the weather was foggy so we were unable to see views from the top. We understood this and had an excellent tour around the lake anyways.
