Granada and Alhambra Tour

The ride was long but worth it. Passed by lots of olive tree groves along the way. The tour guide was quite detailed and professional.

If you are ever in Spain and anywhere near Granada you absolutely should not miss taking this tour. The Alhambra is an amazing site full of beautiful grounds, architecture and rich history.

You can only get a remote idea of the beauty of the Al Hambra from books. The reality is so much more. You can read about the close interactions among Jews, Muslims and Christians for 700 years in this magical kingdom, but in acually going there you can have a bit of that experience . . . and feel the disappointment when it ended. The road trip through olive groves with a very knowledgeable guide, who directed us to a street tapas place in Granada that turned out to be a highlight of our trip, was a lot if fun.

Our group of four thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It was very well-organized, our guide was superb, and the bus was clean and comfortable. The Alhambra was magnificent - not to be missed!

Excellent. We went to all the amazing places we signed in for and more! Big and comfortable coach, stops to rest, very nice staff who provided us with a lot of information and recommendations along with history and/or data of places we were passing through. Guide at the Alhambra was excellent too. ps. I was on a HAL cruise, and purchased tours both through the ship and through Shore and believe me, Shore Exc tours were a lot better in content, price, equipment and, organization.

The La Alhambra and Generalife are a must see when you are in Spain. Such magnificent structures and gardens. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic during the tour.

We left our cruise ship and was greeted warmly by our guide. On the ride to Granada he was helpful in pointing out the sites along the way. Easy to meet up with our bus and tour guide at the cruise terminal. Very comfortable coach for the approximately 90 minute ride through beautiful hills, farms, and olive groves to Granada. Our guide on the coach was a great source of information along the way. At the Alhambra we met up with guides who accompanied us (small group of 10-15). The Alhambra was stunning and quite large. However, we had plenty of time to tour most of it in the 6 hours we were there. Once we returned to the port, the guide gave us the option of doing a short tour of the city with her or to return directly to the ship.

The Cruise Line had a similar tour, but it was sold out. We booked through Shore Excursions for a lower price and was happy. We met the tour operator right off the ship and boarded a large bus for the 1+ hour ride. When we arrived at the site, the Tour Line had 3 local guides (for groups of 12) waiting with personal pre-purchased tickets and radios for us. It took about 3 hours for the tour. Recommend it highly.

Excellent guided tour of the Gardens and Alhambra. The guide we had was excellent. The visit to Granada was short but due to the time of departure of the ship.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic which helped keep me interested. The Alhambra was gorgeous!

This was one of the best tours we have ever taken. It was definitely worth the drive through the beautiful countryside. Our guide on the bus was Rafael...a passionate "historian" who is an archaeologist. I commented that he should be a professor and he said he actually taught at Stanford and one more place. I almost wish I had taken notes! We all learned so much! Our tour guide at the Alhambra was equally magnificent. She made this area come alive...you could close your eyes and imagine yourself in those times. On the way back, we stopped to walk around the Ramblas of Granada. It is a beautiful, clean vibrant area. We had lunch at one of the many restaurants. So often I hear folks taking the same cruises and going back to the same places and wonder why they would do that. I hope to return to Granada/Malaga and definitely to Alhambra..
