Ancient Luxor Tour

Ancient Luxor Tour
November 24, 2023
This was a very good tour and included as much as possible of the preeminent attractions in Luxor. The itinerary was changed and we arrived in Safaga days earlier than planned but our bus was there as planned. I was expecting a small group tour but instead we had 30 participants. It was difficult keeping up with the guide, especially in Karnak due to the crowds. Maybe the large number of participants was due to the change in itinerary? Also, the bus departed about an hour late and I'm not sure why the delay which also rushed the tour. From what I heard from shipmates, this tour compared favorably to the shore excursions offered by the ship.

Great Excursion
November 04, 2022
We had a GREAT shore excursion in Luxor on November 1, 2022. Our driver, Hosen Mohamed, and tour guide, Mohammed Basry, were great and gave us a wonderful tour of Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. It was 5 Star service. Looking forward to booking with you again.

My husband and I were the only ones on this tour. Zach was our guide, and he brought two drivers. We were picked up at our cruise ship, in an air conditioned van.Zach was courteous/thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable of the history of the area.It was very hot [46C], the day we had our tour, and our guide Zach made sure we were constantly supplied with water bottles, and comfortable. We felt safe on our tour, and I know for a fact we saw A LOT MORE of Luxor, than the groups who went on the cruise ship tour [large buses]..my husband and I talked to others who couldn't believe how much we managed to see on one tour day with Zach and our two excellent drivers. Lunch was included and very tasty.

We booked this tour for when our cruise ship stopped at Safaga. As soon as the ship docked we were met by our guide, Peter, and a driver who brought us to a waiting minibus (this was our only complaint - the seats weren't very comfortable). We first visited Karnak temple and spent most of the morning exploring there. Then we travelled into Luxor where we had lunch. While we had lunch our driver took the minibus to the far side of the Nile so that when we finished lunch we walked to the Nile and a boat was arranged for us to cross. On then to a photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon, and thence to the Valley of Kings. Apparently guides are not allowed into the tombs but Peter prepared us before entering as to what we should look out for. From there we went to the Temple of Hatshepsut where Peter recounted tales of political intrigue in Ancient Egypt, with the aid of the wall paintings. It was a hot and tiring day but very worthwhile and we both really enjoyed it. Thank you Peter.
