Waterfall and Rainforest Hike

Wonderful Way to Experience the Beauty of Maui
January 27, 2020
Hike to several beautiful and private waterfalls. I enjoyed both hiking and swimming. This is a small group tour which takes you to hiking through private land. Only the first waterfall is open to the public so the rest of the time you are away from the crowds. Sarah, our guide, was excellent, we never felt rushed but at the same time we saw and experienced a lot. Sarah was well informed and provided an educational experience a long a fun time.

The Tour and Guide was Fantastic !!!
September 04, 2019
This was a very enjoyable hike, beautiful scenery with a very knowledgable and kind tour guide. He packed a terrific lunch with multiple snacks for everyone. Packed plenty of water for us and went above and beyond expectation. The "Shore Excursions Group" bookings were far better than the cruise ship bookings by several means.

Best of 3 different excursions we did!
July 21, 2019
Our guide was awesome! He took time to point out growing pineapples, avocados, bananas & so much more. We probably would have walked right passed without knowing they were there. He was friendly and so patient with the whole group. The rainforest was gorgeous to hike through and the 4 waterfalls we were able to get to that day were simply so beautiful and refreshing. Truelly our favorite excursion we went on.

Waterfall and Rainforest Hike
February 13, 2019
It was informative and fun with small groups of 8-10 people. The hike led to opportunities to swim next to waterfalls and the option of jumping off waterfall for those brave enough to try. It was a check off on my bucket list.

Our favorite excursion!
February 10, 2019
Maybe I can review this hike to pull together some of the different reviews and help you decide if this is for you. Our guide Tony was excellent and gave us so much information about the plants, the area we were hiking in and about Maui. This is not a fast paced hike, you will be stopping to look at plants, sample some fruit and check out the waterfalls that you see. However you should be prepared for hiking through mud and water. Waterproof hiking boots or water shoes/sandals would be ideal. You will be hiking through streams which may be up to your ankle or higher and there is a short climb over rocks with ropes on the trail. Lunch and water is included and you are loaned a backpack to carry those in. Also there is bug spray provided. You may swim in the pools at the waterfalls if you would like to, but it was way too cold to do that when we were there. This was the excursion we enjoyed the most and we did a lot of them.

My Favorite Excursion!
November 15, 2018
Don't let the cold water or your fear of heights stop you from jumping into the waterfall. You go to Hawaii to experience it, not just look at it! Get in the water!!! Only two of us jumped in after Tony, our excellent guide, jumped first. Don't be like the others in my group. The hike is beautiful and off the main tourist path, plus it's a small group (maybe 10 or so) so the hike is even more enjoyable. Tony stopped to show us unique Hawaiian plants and beautiful flowers, and we ate local bananas (way better than the grocery store) as a snack. We had a blast!!!

Great Excursion!
February 27, 2018
This was a great excursion! Our guide, Aaron, was young, but very knowledgeable. He made a point to talk to everyone in the group and was considerate of others who did not move as fast. We went to several waterfalls and had an opportunity to swim under the waterfalls, try fruit from trees, and experience the beautiful Hawaiian landscape. Definitely worth the money!

Mixed feelings about this excursion
December 25, 2017
I chose the review title because, for some people, this was a great hike. Our guide was very informative and super friendly, and made sure everyone was safe. The waterfalls were beautiful and swimming under one was fabulous. Now, about the hike: When I hike, I like to hike. This was more of a saunter, with a lot of stop and go. Maybe most people enjoy that pace, but not me.

great hike
December 18, 2017
Our guide Mirco was just outstanding. picking fruit and flowers off of trees. Native plants and flowers abound. The hike in the rain forest is muddy and slick in streams and trails. Not the easiest hike but I am 65 but well worth the effort. Be sure to dress appropriately. Highly recommend!

Waterfall and Rainforest Hike
January 29, 2017
The hike was great. I loved the waterfall and being outdoors. I think it's difficulty should have been rated higher so individuals would be prepared. There was a lot of mud and cliff climbing that was not mentioned. My son and I did enjoy the challenge.

January 21, 2017
We had a wonderful hike with Gail! She is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It was raining quite hard during part of our hike, but she kept a great attitude and kept us moving along, with safety as her number one priority. The stop at the waterfall is wonderful, lunch was delicious and jumping off into the water was definitely a highlight for our group. Book this tour-- you will love it. And pay the $2 for the "water shoes" or be sure to bring your own (like Keene's). There were other tour companies out there that didn't seem to have the same access or safety concerns.

Fascinating, Beautiful, and FUN!
December 18, 2016
This was an excellent excursion. Glori was our guide and she is extremely knowledgeable. She explained a lot about the various plants and trees you'll encounter in the rain forest, allowed us to sample fresh papaya, pineapple, guava, passion fruit, even raw coffee beans! I most enjoyed climbing the rocks and plunging into the waterfalls. That part is optional :-) Just know it's a lot of walking, could be lots of mud too. Wear old sneakers, but definitely do this excursion!

Excellent trip with Hike Maui
November 25, 2016
Great guide and we really enjoyed the trip. This was one of our best excursions in Hawaii! While we were very happy with the excursion I do believe that it would be helpful to better describe the hiking conditions including the amount of water and mud that you must go through in order to complete the trip. Also, the water shoes that we rented for two dollars were well worth it! Food and snacks provided were fine and we really appreciated the company providing back packs for us due to the mud and water conditions. We would definitely do this trip again and recommend it to others.

Great Fun
November 25, 2016
This was our favorite excursion in Hawaii. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. You get to see four separate waterfalls. The pace is rapid enough that you are not bored. It is somewhat of an adventure hike, so be prepared. You will hike through mud and water up past your ankles. You will leave feeling you have truly experienced some of the natural wonders of Hawaii.

Beautiful and exciting
November 10, 2016
What a great excursion!!!! The rainforest hike was beautiful and not too difficult, but it had been raining so there were some very muddy places. It just added to the adventure. The waterfalls were gorgeous but you had to be a good swimmer to try the first two. It was a ""rush"" just to see the water gushing down. The third falls where we had lunch was one that we all could swim in and enjoy. Marco was an outstanding guide. He had great stories and knew all the plants and flowers. The biggest challenge was crossing one of the rivers. But I did itÖ..with some helpÖ.even though I was by far the very oldest in the group. It was an exhilarating day and one I'm glad I experienced. I imagine if we had not had a rain storm the night before, it might have been drier and perhaps easier. But I loved it just the way it wasÖThanks, Marco!

Great time!
August 09, 2016
This was a small tour with 12 people. It was very intimate and very informative. We werw well taken care of by our guide and had a great time. They suggested wearing old running shoes as we go through lots of mud and this was helpful. Our guide provided us with ponchos (even though we had brought some) when i rained and bug spray. She was amazing, but for the life of me, I cannot remember her name. She looked like Jessica Biel. The views are beautiful and jumping into a waterfall is great. There were even two other waterfalls that you could swim in/around. Out of the 5 excursions we did, this was certainly our favorite!

Great Hike!
July 12, 2016
My husband and I booked this excursion through Norweigian Cruise Lines while aboard the Pride of America. It was a wonderful, small excursion (there were only 9 people in our group) exploring the rain forest and 3 different waterfalls. Some of this hike takes place on private land so there are no other tourists to battle, which is great! Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a great history of the island. He was very mindful of any limitations of people in the group and made sure they were doing okay along the way. I would highly recommend this excursion while visiting Maui!

Really nice day
June 09, 2016
Our guide/leader picked us up at the shopping centre on time and as instructed. He was a very nice fellow and a wealth of relaxed information on the area. We drove to a self proclaimed 'private family hippy reserve"" which had a wide variety of fruit growing as well as some extremely beautiful flowers along with the river and waterfalls. An easy hike was in store and the opportunity to swim in or jump off of waterfalls was available several times. It was great and refreshing. Upon return we were served sandwiches, chips, cookies, water and fresh cut pineapple. It was a very nice day and a great way to start our trip.

Was a fun trip, loved the hike and swim at several pool/waterfall locations. Guide knew all the plants and even had us try some fruits, a real adventure. Make sure you do wear good boots or shoes as the forest floor can be wet / slippery at times. Lunch which was provide was great and fresh, just perfect to picnic at a waterfall location.
