Whale Research Adventure

We've been on this excursion every time we are in Puerta Vallerta, as we love marine biologists sharing their knowledge with us. This year we were blessed with hearing the whales' song ABOVE the water. It was spectacular, and brought tears to our eyes.

We saw 16 whales and Maggie Garcia was a great tour guide who was very informative and passionate regarding the whales! Snacks and drinks were also provided as a plus. I highly recommend this whale watching tour!

This excursion was the highlight of our 15 day cruise! Everything was on time. Our guide was very knowledgeable. We probably had 30 whale sightings. It was a great day, one we'll never forget.

The crew was great, and we saw TONS (literally!) of Grey Whales. We were able to see multiple dives and breaches. Normally (as they explained), a whale will come to the surface and show it's spout a few times before it dives and shows it's tale (fluke). This time (the guides informed us), we were witnessing what wa likely a female being 'courted' by three or so males, who followed her with dives in a shortened time period. We were also able to see a few full jumps- where the whale essentially lifts it's whole body out of the water. It's hard to know whether you should capture the moment on film, or view it with your own eyes without worrying about pictures. We really appreciated how small and personal our excursion was, compared to if we took the ship's excursion.

Went on this excursion in late February, approaching end of the season. Saw a male/female duet, as well as a mother calf duo, both close up, as near as a few yards away. The guide was very knowledgeable and engaged. Thoroughly enjoyable. Only downside was the rush to get back to the ship from the marina, making it 8 minutes before gangplank was raised.

Very informative and enjoyable. We saw at least a dozen whales. While other whale watching boats was sitting in one place we went to wherever we could see the whales. We have done whale watching tours in Alaska, Hawaii, and Massachusetts before and this was the best one we had been on. We saw more whales on this one than all of the others put together

This was a wonderful tour! Oscar was a guide and we were lucky enough to see multiple whales, dolphins, and a sea turtle! It was an awesome experience and we would recommend it to anyone!

The BEST Whale Watching Tour available. Not just a boat ride, but an educational experience. The guide had a Master's Degree in Marine Biology.

We chose this excursion because we wanted to be on a smaller boat and get close to the whales. That we did. We saw a mother whale and it's baby breaching and we were able to get close and get amazing photos. Definitely worth the time and money!

Exceeded my expectations. Saw many whales, as expected, BUT SINGING.?? The driver, the spotter, and the leader worked together beautifully. They found 2 males and 2 females, and the males sang to the females. Dropped a hydra phone into the water, we sat and listened for a LONG time. Wonderful. Much longer with the whales. Memorable.
