Scenic 2-Hr City Tour

Start your historical tour from the heart of downtown, exploring the shores of Ship Creek, where Anchorage originated from a modest tent city driven by a desire for industry. During June and July, you may have the opportunity to witness Chinook salmon swimming upstream to spawn in the world’s only urban King salmon fishery. Stroll to the bronze Arctic art installation commemorating Grandma Olga Nikolai Ezi, a highly esteemed Elder of Ahtna Athabascan descent.

From Ship Creek, we'll journey to the west end of Anchorage through Bootleggers Cove. Along the way, we'll pause for a stroll in Earthquake Park. In 1964, a 9.2 earthquake rocked the city for nearly five minutes, causing upheaval of the silty shoreline and bluffs of the town, making it the second-most powerful earthquake ever recorded. After exploring the park, the local representative will drive around Lake Hood, which is home to the world’s busiest seaplane airport and base.

Finally, at the last destination, enjoy a scenic view inside the Chugach State Park system, as the tour makes its way up the Hillside neighborhood of Anchorage. With favorable weather, guests can take panoramic pictures of Anchorage, the nearby mountain ranges, and the breathtaking Cook Inlet. This area is renowned for its abundance of wildlife, while we cannot promise sighting any during the tour through the City of Flowers & Lights, it is not unusual to view a bald eagle or moose on occasion.

From here, we will return downtown to explore the local shops and eateries at your leisure.
