Setting out from your hotel in Anchorage, you will be transferred to the trail head. Here your guide will ask your small group (no more than 10 guests per guide) about your abilities and fitness levels, and use this information to plan the best hike for the group.
Your guide is a naturalist who will point out and discuss the flora and fauna of the unique coastal Chugach Mountains. You will have views of spectacular landscapes, which may include the Alaska Range, Mt. McKinley (in the far distance), Cook Inlet, Turnagain Arm, and/or glaciated volcanoes.
Some of the wildlife that may be spotted include moose, bear, Dall sheep, marmot, arctic ground squirrels, red fox, wolverine, and numerous species of birds.
After the hike, you will be transported back to Anchorage where drop offs will be made at several hotels.
Please Note: If you are arriving by cruise ship, please enter the William A. Egan Civic and Convention Center as your pick up location.
