Bergen Life History Tour

Walk your way around the wharf and waterfront to learn about daily life in Bergen from the Middle Ages to today. This UNESCO protected old merchant quarter of Bergen is the only preserved business district from the Hanseatic period.

Bryggen is a series of Hanseatic commercial buildings lining the eastern side of the fjord coming into Bergen. The characteristic parallel rows of buildings represent building traditions dating back almost 900 years. Learn about the Hanseatic merchants and the stockfish trade from your knowledgeable guide on this walking tour.

Exploring Bergen by foot is a rewarding experience which gives a completely new impression of the city. The city center is compact and bustling with life and yet has so much to offer by way of history and culture.
