Bike and Wine Tour

Depart from Santiago with your friendly bilingual guide, who will escort you to the town of Alto Jahuel, the start of your Chilean wine and bike tour. Pedal to the top wine makers in the surrounding towns. Passing through this rural setting, you'll get an intimate view of the lifestyles of the local residents. You will reach Viña Santa Rita, the welcoming pueblo that houses the National Landmark, Doña Paula Jaraquemada.

The first stop on your Santiago day trip is the oldest wine cellar in Chile. As you taste their product, you will hear about how this winery has not only produced delicious wine, but also aided in Chile's independence. The bike route takes you up close to the grape vines so you can see exactly how these plants grow. While pedaling to the next town, Carmen, you will have a beautiful view of the massive Andes Mountains. The Carmen winery is a state of the art facility that manufactures extremely fine wines. After another tasting, you will visit the Organic Gardens and Viña Nativa, a flower and vine filled area, teeming with wildlife. Some animals you might spot include swans, ducks, chickens, llamas, and deer. You will be invited to sit down at a reserved table and served a few of the finest wines Viña Native and Carmen have to offer. The next stop leads you to Viña Santa Rita's wine shop for another wine tasting. You will then bike back to Alto Jahuel, where lunch will be served, accompanied by two more delectable wines.

For this tour you are provided with a bike, helmet, water, and transportation to and from your hotel. You are given a nice picnic lunch and you will be touring the Chilean countryside with a well-educated, bilingual tour guide. This leisurely series of rides through Chile's wine region is the perfect way to spend a day outside Santiago.
