Bonaire Beach Break Deluxe

Today, tropical Bonaire is a playground for all comers. Centuries ago this was not case. First, you'll visit the Salt flats and the huts where slaves who mined the salt were housed. Thereafter, you'll visit the portion within the Salt company reserved as a flamingo sanctuary. Next, Bonaire's oldest lighthouse will be seen before you reach the Plaza Beach Resort to play in the luxurious pool and bar. Travelers interested in both island culture and relaxation value this tour.

This guided tour brings you to the southern section of the island to the centuries old Salt flats. Since the 17th Century, when Europeans arrived salt was mined by Caquetio Indians and African slaves. You'll see the huts where these people resided while mining salt, which continues to produce to this very day.

Next, located within the grounds of the Salt Company, you'll visit lands reserved as a flamingo sanctuary prior to driving further to the southernmost tip of the island. Here, you will see Willems Toren lighthouse. Erected in 1837 it is the oldest lighthouse in Bonaire, and it still works!

Thereafter, you will reach the Plaza Beach Resort. This delightful, all-inclusive resort opens its doors for your relaxing pleasure. Swim at its beach or the fountain pool. Or snorkel on a nearby reef. And for a full buffet lunch, Coconut Crash Beach Bar has delicious food and a wonderful selection of beverages to satisfy you. Reserve this tropical dream today.
