Private Amsterdam City and Windmill Tour

This private half day tour will give you a lovely overview of the city as well as a visit to Zaanse Schans to see the famous windmills.

You will meet your guide and separate driver at the pier and set out on a 90 minute orientation drive of the city of Amsterdam. You will drive through the historic center of Amsterdam, passing along the Amstel River with the wooden skinny bridge, pass the Munt tower and floating flower market, Dam Square with the Royal Palace and the New Church.. While passing through the oldest part of Amsterdam called "the Jordaen" with its quaint little streets you will see the exterior of the house in which Anne Frank hid during the Second World War.

Driving outside of Amsterdam, you will pass scenic pastureland dotted with farms as we will make our way to the 'Zaanse Schans' windmill village, a well-preserved traditional village with its typical Dutch wooden houses. canals, cheese farm, windmills and a wooden shoemaker. Here you will have approximately 60 minutes free time to walk around this working open-air museum watching the craftsmen practicing the trades of yesteryear. You will have a chance to visit a cheese factory, witness the Old Dutch craft of clog making, or simply relax in an outdoor cafe or shop for souvenirs. At the appointed time, you will make the 45 minute drive back to Amsterdam along a scenic route.

Restrictions
Guests must be able to walk over paved, gravel and cobblestone surfaces, some are uneven. Guests wishing to visit a windmill inside will have to climb approximately 12 steep steps to enter.
