Snorkel at Creole Rock
Creole Rock Snorkeling & Sightseeing Excursion
Between the sightseeing, the swimming and the snorkeling at Creole Rock, you'll know you're on a very special St. Maarten excursion.
And the special treatment begins right at the beginning, as your included 30-40 minute transfer from the cruise terminal takes haggling with taxi drivers out of the equation.
Upon arrival, you will check in and usually have free time to take a beach walk or pick up any last-minute items you may have forgotten such as sunscreen.
With a group of no more than 15 guests, you will then board your 28-foot motor boat with sun shade and set off through the lagoon, along the beautiful coastline passing Marigot Harbour, Friar's Bay and Happy Bay, and arrive at Creole Rock, off Grand Case. From here, you also have views of the island of Anguilla.
Creole Rock is a large rock formation with a reef extending towards the mainland, about a mile offshore. Waters are shallow and calm, and provide excellent snorkeling. The boat moors over a large sandy patch, in about eight feet of water. The site is shallow, and the nearby reef life provides abundant chances of seeing the rare frogfish, pufferfish, occasional barracuda and many different varieties of reef fish.
For the novice or non-snorkeler, flotation belts and float boards are available for your enjoyment.
A large cooler provides sodas throughout this St. Maareten Snorkel tour. When you are done snorkeling, beer, French bread and Gouda cheese are served to happy, hungry snorkelers during the scenic boat ride back to Simpson Bay. From here, you will be transferred back to the cruise pier.
Please Note: The boat does not have a restroom on board. Snorkel gear is provided. Due to heavy traffic on the island, guests should not choose the afternoon departure if their ship sails before 6:00 PM.

Everything went well, once we found the location for the pick up. That they could make easier. The driving, sailing and snorkeling was super
Excellent tour. Snorkeling was very good and tour guide provided very good service with lots of local information to enhance the tour.
Snorkel at Creole Rock was amazing. Water beautiful, sights amazing. Boat ride was longish but the captain drove at at rate that made it relaxing and enjoyable. A must do!!
The excursion started out a little rocky. We were not told we would have to take a cab to the port. Took us about 30 minutes and made us late for our boat. They kindly put us on the next boat, but we had to wait. Then this skinny young man comes to get us and says he is our captain. I thought he was about 18, he said he name was Junior. Made me nervous, but after we got out in the bay and found out Junior had been doing this for 6 years, it made us at ease. Come to find out he is very knowledgeable about the island and it's history. He even saw his Aunt on the trip in, she shouted and invited him to dinner. Hilarious! The snorkeling was beautiful, saw many fish and coral. One group of young men found an octopus, I wish I could have seen that. On the trip home Junior served cheese and bread that was fantastic. Wonderful trip!
we all enjoyed the boat trip out to the rock...nice snorkeling site.... very windy day but when we got there we were protected by the rock and had no trouble snorkeling...go for it...
