Full-Day Sintra Deluxe Tour

Dotted by royal retreats, estates, castles, and buildings from the 8th-9th century, this charming region is the site of the royal family's summer residence.

Depart from Lisbon, while enjoying the spectacular view of the Atlantic coast. Before arriving in Cascais, uncover Estoril as you enjoy a panoramic tour, where you will find one of the largest casinos in Europe. Cascais is well-known around the world for being a former fishing community that evolved into an aristocratic getaway, distinguished by its lovely beaches, seaside life, and vibrant streets.

Discover Guincho beach, Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point in continental Europe, and Boca do Inferno, a breath-taking sea cliff formation.

From Cascais, travel to Sintra to learn more about the "cultural landscape" that has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spend some free time to browse tea shops and handicraft shops and sample some of the well-known local treats, such as queijadas and travesseiros. During your free time, stop and have lunch while enjoying the mountain views in the region.

Travel to the mountainous terrain of Sintra, approximately 15 miles north of Lisbon. Upon arrival, you will visit the Pena Palace of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. The palace constitutes one of the major expressions of 19th-century Romanticism in the world. The President of the Portuguese Republic and other government officials often uses it for state occasions. The palace stands on the top of a hill above the town of Sintra, and on a clear day, it can be easily seen from many locations in Lisbon. The current-day palace stems from a monastery that started around 1500 A.D.
