Glacier Landing

Amazing views of Iceland's natural beauty are a short hop from downtown Reykjavik. Leaving the city, you'll head directly to a glacier accessible only by helicopter before acquiring a peek inside the crater of Skjaldbreidur, a shield volcano. On your return journey, you will fly over the astounding Thingvellir National Park. This is the ideal tour for travelers demanding exclusive views of Iceland's majestic snow-capped beauty.

Marvel at the rugged foothills and Mt. Esja, Reykjavik's tallest mountain, that serve as your backdrop while your pilot flies you to a glacier. When you touch down, step out onto the glacier and breath in some of the freshest alpine air on earth.

With the wind in your hair, you'll be off to see the crater of the shield volcano Skjaldbreidur. Visitors adore seeing this lava shield, which was created 9,000 years ago by a single eruption. As you hover above, imagine the powerful force that produced this natural oddity.

Thereafter, you'll fly over the Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site, and home to Iceland's largest natural lake. Thingvellir is also home to Althing, the oldest existing parliament in the world, founded by the Vikings more than a thousand years ago. Reserve this unique aerial adventure to experience the grandeur of Reykjavik.
