Most museums and palaces including the Hermitage & Peterhof (Monday) Catherine's Palace (Tuesday) St Issac's, Peter and Paul Fortress, Spilled Blood (Wednesday) are closed one day of the week as well as additional days throughout the season (holidays, certain days during the last week of the month. etc.) It is the guest's responsibility to book this service on a day when the sites you wish to see are open, and for the duration required to see them. SEG does not monitor opening days, dates, or times and cannot be held responsible for guests booking this service when sites are not available.
Please be aware that cruise lines occasionally mislead passengers by telling them that they are not allowed to disembark the ship in St. Petersburg unless they are on an excursion purchased through the cruise line. In addition, the cruise lines also sometimes tell passengers that they cannot disembark the ship until the passengers on the cruise lines' excursions have done so first. This is incorrect, and you are free to exit the ship as soon as passengers start to disembark because Russian law states that a cruise ship cannot hold passengers onboard against their will as long as they have the proper documents. In order to clear immigration, you will need to bring along: 1) Your passport; 2) A photocopy of the picture page of your passport; and 3) A copy of your tour tickets. We will provide you with your tour tickets as part of the documents we e-mail to you after you make a tour booking.

This was a really fun excursion and much more affordable then what the boat offers. We had a party of 13 (12 and a 20 month old baby). They accommodate us with a nice big van with car seat. They took us around the city and gave us great information about Russia. Took us to an affordable souvenir shop, bought us all chocolate and let us taste Russian vodka. It took us an hour to get through customs but she already new it would take a long time and started our time when we were all present.
The English speaking guide was knowledgeable, informative, flexible, and had great suggestions. Driver was careful and always there when we needed him.
