Private Rostock - A Hanseatic Treat

Depart the pier for the short drive to the Rostock city center where your private half-day walking city tour begins. Here, you will set out with your guide, along the old city wall passing by the Kropelin Gate, one of Rostocks fortifications, ending up in the gardens of the Holy Cross Monastery.

You will have the chance to admire the university building on the university square. Founded in 1419, the University of Rostock is the oldest institution for higher education in the Baltics. View the Blucher Monument and the Joy of Life Fountain. You will then have some free time to stroll around the city center or browse for souvenirs. Countless bars and cafes invite you to indulge in a local snack.

The next highlight will be a visit to the awe-inspiring St. Mary's Church, with its astronomical clock dating back to the 13th century. A visit will be made to a lively microbrewery. The "Alter Fritz" invites you to savor a fresh draft of homemade beer served together with a pretzel. After your refreshment, you will head back to the pier.
