Hidden Coba

Think you know about the Mayans? Not until you've taken The "Hidden Coba" Tour.

After meeting your guide on the pier, you will board your air-conditioned transportation for the 1 hour, 45 minute drive to Coba.

Upon arrival, you will follow your guide as you walk into this amazing site, still hidden in the jungle. This is a site not excavated or rebuilt like Tulum or Chichen Itza. Here, you will see a wild site that really triggers the imagination.

Your guide will take you on a walking tour for approximately 90 minutes to visit the areas open to the public. You will have the opportunity to see and if you are brave, climb Nohoch Mul, the 138-foot pyramid which is the tallest Mayan structure in the Northern Yucatan. You will visit the ball courts, where a game - part soccer, part basketball - was once played.

You will walk along some of the more than 30 Sacbe (White Roads) that are a marvel of engineering. These paved roads, some stretching more than 60 miles through the dense jungle in perfectly straight lines, are wide and built up with walled sides.

Much too soon it is time to begin the drive back to the coast and the pier.
