Highlights of Gothenburg

Make the most of your time in Gothenburg by visiting the must-see sites this amazing city has to offer. Gothenburg is the second largest city in Sweden and its citizens are known for their warmth and witty humor.

Take a ride over Alvsborg Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the nation with a height of 351 feet. At Masthugg Church you will be greeted by its 60 meter (197 Feet) tower and can go inside in between services. Built in 1914, this iconic building sits on a high hill in the outer city and is full of beautiful artwork, stone reliefs and ornaments.

Head to Gotaplatsen, the lively cultural hub of the city to see the stunning Carl Mills sculpture Poseidon Fountain residing in the square's middle as well as the library, concert hall, municipal theatre and the Museum of Fine Arts. While here take a peek at adjacent Avenyn, Gothenburg's main street. This busy boulevard is home to multiple shops, restaurants, galleries and nightclubs.

You will also stop at Gustav Adolfs Torg, a public square named after the city's founder. This popular square contains a statue of Adolfs Torg as well as the court house, City Hall and the Stock Exchange.

No tour to Gothenburg would be complete without a visit to the Fish Church! So named because of its Gothic Style building, this colorful indoor fish market has been open since 1874 and pays tribute to fishing, one of the city's oldest trades.

This tour is the perfect introduction for those who are only in town for a few hours. Reserve your spot today as not miss out.

Please Note: The Masthugg church may sometimes close for public visits on short notice due to ceremonies.
