Private Horseback Ride and Falls

If riding horses, exploring a jungle, and swimming under waterfalls all sound appealing, this private tour in the Dominican Republic is absolutely perfect for your group.

After meeting your guide at the pier, hop aboard your private vehicle and take in the scenery along the way to the national park, where your horses will be waiting. Along the way, enjoy a stop or two at some of the noteworthy panoramic sites. After saddling up, you will set off through the jungle on your horse. The horses are experts at traversing the uneven terrain, which includes a couple of steep inclines. There is also a local horse handler who will walk alongside each horse in the group.

The ride to the falls takes approximately 30 minutes each way. Once you arrive at the top of the El Limon waterfall, you will dismount and begin the hike to the base of the falls 100 feet below. There are handrails along most of the path down to help guide you as you descend over 250 steps. The last 300 yards of the steep path includes walking on uneven surfaces that can also become muddy. The rewarding view at the bottom is definitely worth the hike. Spend some time taking in the view and swimming in the refreshing waters of the waterfall's large pool. You can also swim into the falls and explore the cave underneath. You will have approximately 40 minutes to enjoy the falls.

After you've finished exploring, you will climb back up to the top of the falls where, after a short break, you will mount your horse for the ride back. Once you arrive at the ranch, wash up and enjoy a delicious homemade lunch, cooked entirely over a wood fire. The lunch is served buffet-style and usually features a Dominican stewed beef and/or chicken, plus salads, vegetables, fruit, and coffee. There is something for everyone, including vegetarians.

From here, you will be taken back to the cruise pier.
