Private Lenin, Rasputin & Russian Revolution Historical Tour (Visas Included)

Here, in historic St. Petersburg you'll come face to face with the museums, palaces and Russian revolutions for a robust understanding of Russian history.

At the Museum of Political History, you'll receive a sound review and understanding of events leading to: the Russian Revolution, the final days of the Romanov dynasty, the actual Revolution, the subsequent Civil War, and the following reigns of Lenin and Stalin before the Second World War and The Cold War. Gain insight into Perestroika and the collapse of the Soviet Union and see how they all connected. Yusupov Palace will be a great addition as it features exclusive interiors and wax figures of Grigori Rasputin and members of the consipracy.

Taking in all the city highlights, you will enjoy the relaxing drive around St. Petersburg while your guide points out landmarks and the history behind each. This excursion is a complete overview of Russian History. It covers topics from from the Red October revolution, through the Cold War and all the way up to the collapse of the Soviet Union and Perestroika. You will love stopping at the famous ballerina's former home that was occupied by the Bolsheviks in 1917. It now stands as a Museum and is filled with artifacts related to the history of the Soviet Union.

Next on your tour is the famed Peter and Paul Fortress and Cathedral. Erected in 1703, it was the keystone building in the Tsar's Great Northern war against the Swedes. This grand 18th-century ecclesiastical structure served as the city's central place of worship, defense, and burial (serving as the burial place for Romanov nobility).

As if this wasn't enough, you will also have the benefit of a trip to Yusupov's Palace, a museum which provides an interesting look at the lives of the aristocracy of the 19th and early 20th centuries. This exquisite palace features exotic rooms such as the Moorish Room, a magnificent Rococo theatre that is still used for concerts, and much more. Yusupov's palace is famous for the murder of Grigori Rasputin, a man with mystical powers who influenced the family of the last Russian tsar. This half day is packed with sightseeing, yet comfortable and relaxing for a most pleasurable experience.

Please be aware that cruise lines occasionally mislead passengers by telling them that they are not allowed to disembark the ship in St. Petersburg unless they are on an excursion purchased through the cruise line. In addition, the cruise lines also sometimes tell passengers that they cannot disembark the ship until the passengers on the cruise lines' excursions have done so first. This is incorrect, and you are free to exit the ship as soon as passengers start to disembark because Russian law states that a cruise ship cannot hold passengers onboard against their will as long as they have the proper documents. In order to clear immigration, you will need to bring along: 1) Your passport; 2) A photocopy of the picture page of your passport; and 3) A copy of your tour tickets. We will provide you with your tour tickets as part of the documents we e-mail to you after you make a tour booking.
