Old San Juan Food Tour
Old San Juan Food Tour
Start off on foot near the Old San Juan City bay and eat your way through the Colonial city, visiting three tasting locations in total. Along the way you will learn a little of the history and culture of the oldest city flying under the U.S. flag, enjoy breathtaking Spanish and French architecture and dine at some of the best restaurants on the island.
Your walking tour will begin at a local restaurant with Puerto Rico's mouthwatering sweet bread, the mallorca, and a cup of locally-sourced coffee.
Then, you'll enjoy some of San Juan's beautiful architecture as you sample fresh and local favorites made with ingredients from the city's most popular farmer's market.
The favorite stop for many guests is next. You will get a hands on experience making our most signature local dish (mofongo) in a restaurant that was once Old San Juan's original city hall (dating back to 1523!) Your mofongo will be made with chicken or veggies upon request.
Another traditional dish in Puerto Rico is rice and beans, and you will sample it in one of Old San Juan's best kept secrets, a hidden open-air patio dating back to the 17th century.
No progressive meal would be complete without dessert, and at Old San Juan's only choco bar, you'll savor hand crafted local chocolate in a beautiful, unique environment.
To keep the tour fresh and new, the sites visited are changed from time to time based on seasonal dishes and availability of certain foods and space at the restaurants visited. Final destinations will be announced the day of the tour by your guide.
