Paella Cooking Class
Paella Cooking Class
Spend an interactive and engaging half-day touring the enchanting neighborhood known as The Gothic and learn to create several tasty Paella dishes.
The fun begins as your local foodie guide walks you and your small group through the narrow, medieval streets of The Gothic to the impressive Columbus monument. Take a group photo in front of this 60m tall tribute to Christopher Columbus, then walk up the famous La Rambla while your guide shares the fascinating history of this street. You will stop in a patisserie (pastry shop) run by the same family for 115 years to wake up your palette with coffee and a scrumptious, fresh baked pastry.
From there you will head to Mercat St. Josep de la Boqueria, a must-do when in Barcelona. Opened in 1853, this lively market is a colorful explosion of fruits, vegetables, sights and sounds. Visit 2 of the many market stallholders and enjoy a few little bites as you soak in the bustling ambience of its sights, smells and sounds.
Then it's on to experience the fine art of Paella cooking! After being greeted with a Cava drink, you will be paired at a cooking station to create 4 Paella dishes under the guidance and encouragement of an executive chef. Sip on wine while you lovingly combine the fresh ingredients, then sit down at the family style table and share the paellas that you created. Your chef will share with you the traditional Barcelonan entree and dessert of Pa amb Tomaquet and Crema Catalana.
Conclude your tour with a walk to the Plaza de Catalunya where your guide will point out places and items of interest to explore including the Gothic Quarter, some of Antoni Gaudi's beautiful buildings and shops on the fashionable Passeig de Gracia. This one-of-a-kind culinary experience sells out fast!
