Peter Island Beach Day

The largest private island in the British Virgin Islands, Peter Island, is located four miles south of Tortola. 1,200 acres in all, it has a hilly topography ideal for hiking and biking, lush vegetation, and white-sand beaches lined with palm trees. Peter Island is home to the luxurious Peter Island Resort and Yacht Club, a classic Caribbean resort featuring five beaches, deluxe accommodations and outstanding cuisine. Sip on a complimentary rum punch as you admire the gorgeous beaches, sun, and sand.

Legend has it that that Deadman's Beach was named after the pirates who were marooned on neighboring Dead Chest Island and washed up on the shores. And it takes a mere second - or one toe in the sand, whichever comes first - to realize that those swashbucklers may have discovered gold after all. A mile-long crescent of perfect palm trees, pristine white sand, and turquoise-blue waters, Deadman's Beach is the island's biggest beach, perfect for snorkeling, sunbathing or just an afternoon of wondering why it took you so long to discover Peter Island. All snorkel gear is provided including vests available in children's sizes.

When you've had enough of being lazy on this outpost-like beach, hop over to Peter Island Resort, world-class for fun water activities and the best selection of cuisines from its four uniquely different restaurants (at your own expense).
