Learn to cook a delicious Vietnamese dish then get up close and personal with Nguyen Dynasty history.
On this private cooking tour you will head out to Dong Ba market on a bicycle with basket seat in front, called a cyclo. Peruse the bustling stalls for fresh meat, fish, and vegetables, then it's back out on the streets for a cyclo ride to Toa Kham wharf. Board a King Dragon boat for a leisurely ride up the Perfume River while you participate in a 2-hour cooking class. Watch as your professional chef prepares the dishes, then try your hand at whipping up a Vietnamese meal. The best part? Sampling your own creations!
Once back on land, visit the famed Imperial Citadel and Forbidden Purple City. The Citadel is actually a system of three walled circles that enclose the Imperial City. Hidden inside the Imperial City is the Forbidden Purple City, reserved exclusively for the Emperor and his family. The perimeter of the Citadel is guarded by a moat, as is the Emperor's Palace. Any unauthorized person who managed to slip through the elaborate wall gates, cross the moats and enter the Forbidden Purple City was put to death.
Finish your time in Hue chatting over a cup of Hue Imperial Tea with the owner of a unique garden house before your return back to port.
