Private Godafoss Waterfall and Christmas House Tour
Your adventure starts with a stop at Godafoss Waterfall in the river Skjalfandafljot. This stunning, horseshoe-shaped waterfall is about 100m wide and played a crucial part in Icelandic history in 1,000 AD when the formerly heathen country embraced Christianity, the then-leader threw his Norse gods into the waterfall as a symbolic act of the conversion. Grab a photo or two then journey to Eyjafjordur Fjord.
Walk inside the festive Christmas house and be serenaded by holiday melodies as you look for Santa and his helpers. You won't find the Grinch but you might meet Gryla, the mother of the Iceland Yule Lads; legend has it she eats children who behave badly! Allow your heart to grow three sizes amidst the merry decorations then enjoy some time in Akureyri Centre before your return to the port.
