Private Marbella and Puerto Banus

Formerly a small Andalusian fishing-village, Marbella is now one of the most exciting holiday resorts along the Mediterranean coast. Marbella's motto is "A Way of Life" and, certainly, this luxurious resort town seems to have it all, great beaches, great climate and offers unique gastronomy and entertainment. Puerto Banus is the most fashionable resort in Southern Spain. It has a busy marina, not only for some of the most impressive yachts in the world, but also as one of the most popular locations for dining and nightlife in the Mediterranean.

Meet your guide directly in front of the cruise terminal gate and embark in your comfortable air-conditioned coach towards chic Marbella. As you leave the busy streets of Malaga, your licensed, local and knowledgeable guide will point out the main landmarks, monuments and sights and will keep you entertained during the approximately one-hour long journey.

Upon arrival, you will enjoy a scenic tour of this rich and famous favorite spot in Spain. Marbella gained fame when General Franco came for the first time in the late fifties in his yacht and fell in love. In the seventies, during the middle of the oil crisis, the oil princes and sheiks arrived to Marbella, bringing their "petrol dollars" and started investing money in real estate, building luxury hotels, private palaces, huge villas, etc. The little marina in old town Marbella suddenly was too small for the immense yachts and ships, so a new marina 'Puerto Banus' was planned outside the center.

Your friendly guide will take you on a tour of the old quarter of Marbella where you will see Incarnation Church, ancient hermitages and chapels as well as remains of the Moorish and Roman heritage. While navigating the narrow streets, you will come across beautiful flower-filled squares and superb white washed houses. Orange Square is with no doubt one of the prettiest place in Marbella and from here you will be given free time to continue exploring independently, grab a souvenir in the numerous hand craft shops or posh boutiques or simply sit on a shaded terrace of the numerous cafes and restaurants. Your guide will also take you to the Avenida del Mar where there are 10 sculptures made by Dali on display.

The second part of your tour will take you to the upscale marina of Puerto Banus. During the short, approximately 10-minute journey you will drive through the Golden Mile Avenue named after the highly exclusive hotels and mansions that call this home.

With the Sierra Blanca Mountains in the background, Puerto Banus is a true gem. The marina is filled with mega yachts owned by millionaires and royal families while the shopping area boasts over 40 designer boutiques. You might even spot various celebrities shopping and enjoying their day here.

Enjoy lunch (at your own expense) at one of the many great restaurants with most situated directly on the marina offering spectacular views. Continue to explore independently before boarding your coach at the determined time and location.

Upon your return to Malaga, a scenic tour will be given by your guide before you are returned to the cruise terminal and your ship.
