Private Mornington Peninsula Discovery

Spend the day in Mornington Peninsula, (one hour from the port) the summertime playground of Melburnians young and young-at-heart. Breathe in the fresh sea air and soak up the relaxed alfresco lifestyle of this area just an hour from Melbourne.

When you combine the best of Europe's coastal living with traditional Aussie charm, you have Mornington Peninsula. Make your way to the coast and check out the brightly colored bathing boxes; these wooden structures were originally changing houses and are now passed down through family to relax in at the beach. These rainbow-colored bathing boxes have provided a colorful backdrop to countless swims and lazy beach days all along the coast of Port Phillip Bay. While technically no more than a shed, with no water or electricity, many of the historic bathing boxes have been passed down through generations and remain in high demand. Found on beaches from Mount Eliza and Dromana to Rosebud and Portsea, these iconic bathing boxes are the peninsula's symbol of summer and have become a tourist attraction of their own right.

Feed a kangaroo at the Moonlit Sanctuary where you can also encounter koalas and wallabies in their natural habitat. Meet endangered species in a beautiful bushland setting at this Wildlife Conservation Park where colorful orange-bellied parrots abound, water birds are at home in extensive wetlands and visitors can sample the flourishing bush foods garden. Inspired by the work of famous British conservationist Gerald Durrell, Moonlit Sanctuary is now home to over 60 Australian species, including about 80 wallabies, free to roam through the bush and give visitors a rare natural encounter.

Discover this area is known for fine style food and wine with sensational regional menus. Choose to enjoy a premium wine tasting and 2-course lunch at at renowned local favourite Merrick's General Wine Store. Amazing menu with local wine in a historic homestead built in 1924. The rich red soils grow the most abundant seasonal produce and the beautiful natural environment creates an enviable lifestyle. All this has attracted the most passionate winemakers and top city chefs seeking inspiration. A reputation for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, all with a true sense of place, has been gained by the region.
