Private Te Mata Peak and Art Deco by Classic/Vintage Car

Be welcomed to the land that is 100 percent New Zealand and of unlimited photo opportunities. There are two words that best describe Hawke's Bay and they are Wine Country - but there is much more than wine to this sunny region. Choose from a classic/vintage car, and enjoy your half day tour in this beautiful area.

Your local and knowledgeable Driver/Guide will take you from destination to destination all in relaxed comfort. Begin your tour with a relaxed drive along the coast road to the first stop at one of Hawke's Bays highest points, the beautiful Te Mata Peak, where you can enjoy stunning 360 degree views across the Bay.

A short drive away is a quiet country cafe, where no tour coaches are allowed, serving hot and cold drinks including wine, beer, light meals and snacks (at your own expense). Relax and enjoy the atmosphere either indoors or outside under the shade of some beautiful fig trees.

Your tour continues with a scenic drive crossing the Tuki Tuki River, then back towards Napier through the beautiful Tuki Tuki Valley, which has often been described by visitors as looking a little like Hobbit country.

A short stop is made at a chocolate factory with complimentary tastings and the opportunity to purchase chocolates and fudge, and then on to Napier itself. Napier is rightly world-famous for the Art Deco City that was created in the aftermath of the Hawke's Bay earthquake of 1931. Tour the city, hear what happened on that dark day and learn how and why Napier rose from the ashes, reinventing itself as the Art Deco Capital of the World.

Visit Bluff Hill for more outstanding views, cruise the picturesque historic fishing village of Ahuriri including the famous National Tobacco Co. building, and see Art Deco homes in Napier's suburbs.

Finally, you will be driven to either the shuttle bus pickup point for return to the ship, or you can elect to spend some time in Napier's City Center before making your own way to the nearby shuttle buses.
