Private Romantic Cornwall Highlights
England's western-most point - the granite rock mass known as Land's End, plunges into the sea at the end of the Cornish Peninsula. A panoramic drive takes you across pleasant landscapes with rolling rural landscape giving way to flatter terrain leading to dramatic cliffs. Pause at the seaside town of Marazion for photos of lovely St. Michael's Mount, the beguiling castle-topped isle standing proudly off shore in Mount's Bay. Then continue past the town of Penzance to the end of the peninsula and Land's End.
Here you may walk around the rocky plateau with your guide and, if the day is clear, enjoy the fine views of the steep granite cliffs and rugged coastal scenery.
Afterwards continue to the lovely town of St.Ives, an artists haven and typical Cornish fishing village. After a quick town orientation, enjoy time to wander its narrow streets at leisure and explore the galleries and shops or visit a cafe or local Pub! Art lovers may wish to explore the nearby Hepworth gallery; home of Barbara Hepworth the renowned sculptor who helped make St. Ives such a thriving artist's colony in the 1900's. Also the Tate gallery, an icon to Cornish art both ancient and modern.
On your return drive to Falmouth, enjoy fine coastal views across the south of the county towards Helston before descending back to the harbor.
