Sights and Shops of Amsterdam
On this small group tour, you will be given individual attention as you are guided by your local and knowledgeable representative who will show you unique shops where you will not only browse locally produced goods, but you will also get to chat with the artists themselves and learn the stories behind their wares!
Discover the Dutch's history of goods production and how they are being proactive in the 21st century with respect to fair trade. Start in the Red-Light District, a changing neighborhood with a colorful history that is quickly becoming a shopping gem.
Walk through the tiny streets and meet a few shop owners who have decided to invest in the area, then step into a store that makes items out of recycled waste. This shop uses mainly bicycle parts and provides work for disadvantaged locals.
From there you will cross the Dam Square to your second shop in the heart of the city that creates portrait photography. While here, learn how important the portrait art form is to local culture.
