Grenada's Spice Route

This half-day tour will give you a great feel of Grenada Island, its landscape, people, and products. And as you'll see, it is, indeed, "The Island of Spice."

Take some time to further explore and capture stunning photos! Quality spices can be purchased at the spice shop, before continuing your voyage around this beautiful island.

A 45-minute drive along the west coast takes you to the fishing town of Gouyave, where 50% of the islands fish is caught!

Your first stop on the Spice Tour will be to the Spices Estate that sustain the environmental wealth of Grenada. Dating back to the 1600's, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, cocoa and bananas have all been major crops produced on the island. While you walk these grounds, immerse yourself in the culture and history of Grenada, see, smell and touch the spices, discover why the island is often referred to as "the spice of the Caribbean."

Continue your journey with a drive to the lush volcanic mountains of, Grand Etang Rainforest. Where you can take some time to absorb the beauty of natural Grenada. Peeking out of the vegetation, you will spot the Crater Lake glistening among the hills surrounding it. This lake is an extinct volcano that was once responsible for forming the island of Grenada. Time will also be taken to see if we can attract some of the mona monkeys, which are unique to Grenada in the western Hemisphere.
